I am going to a charity ball next week. I have bought a black dress and black transparent bolero jacket and I am wondering what shoes and tights (if any) are best to go with the dress so as to break up the colour. I have got a pair of silver glittery heeled sandals but not sure if they would be best. If I go for tights would it be best to keep it plain and simple with nude tights. Hope someone can help.
I seem to get runs in my tights and leggings relatively frequently, and I don't know why. My mother has pointed out that I tend to "rake them up" my legs with my nails, while I should be using the pads of my fingers. My nails are very short, though, so I'm not sure about this. Anyway, I was wondering: What is the proper way to adjust one's tights? How long should a pair of tights be expected to last, assuming they are good quality? Should one avoid using one's nails completely while adjusting a pair of tights? Are there any particular brands/materials that last longer? Thank you for your time. Oh, and before I forget: can tights be repaired with a regular sewing kit?
I'm a consultant and work from home, and wear only tights and a comfortable old sweater most of the day. So my laundry basket is often full of tights. Washing by hand is a drag. Can I put them in the washing machine?
it also did this with a dress i have that says 95% rayon, 5% spandex. (black tights. dress is orange, blue and white). i know it cant be the "dirt" because it is orangey and because my dress is fairly new. i have washed the same pair of tights at least 10x in a row and the water color is consistent. the detergent is blue (if that matters at all?). is it just what they (tights and dress) are made of that gives off this pigment?
